I Want More

Written by Joe Deegan

I don’t care about the size of our house as long as you and I can fit inside

I don’t care about the money in the bank as long as you and I invest our time

I don’t care about the fame as long as you know who I am

I don’t care if this is all there is as long as I can be your man

But if I’m truly being honest with myself, I am rarely satisfied

I’d like to think that I’m above these things, but I want the things that money buys

It’s the endless appetite of a thief who steals ‘cause he can

The grass is greener in my neighbor’s yard; I only want what I can’t have

O wretched man that I am! Who will save me from this death?

O wretched man that I am! Who will save me from myself?

You can show me all that I already have, and I will show you something else that I need

There is a garden here to satisfy my soul, but I want the one thing you told me not to eat

Oh it’s the hunger in my heart; it’s the thirst that won’t be quenched

I am grateful for everything you’ve done, I just want more than you can give

(Chorus)
